Thermalec pool heaters are unique in that they will operate with water coming from the filter at high velocity without it striking the heating elements directly. Instead, the water is deflected by baffles, forcing it round the curved base of the heater. The patented spiral flow around the elements removes all the generated heat, minimizing the risk of scale or sediment collecting within the heater.

Any air pumped from the pool is allowed to pass harmlessly around the sides of the baffles and across the top of the heater.

The control thermostat is positioned away from the elements so as to sense the incoming water temperature and control the pool to within 1°C.

The safety thermostat measures the temperature of the water as it leaves the heater, providing perfect safety for the bathers. A temperature rise within the heater, due to poor water flow conditions, is rapidly sensed by both the control and the safety thermostat.

The unique cup-shaped base design ensures that the heated part of the element is always kept beneath the water, even if the flow from the pump fails. Flow failure simply allows the water in the cup to warm up and switch the heater off instantly using the normal temperature controls.

All heaters 15kW and above have circuit breakers as well as the working contractor, which are switched off by excess temperature.

A considerable amount of water evaporates from the surface of a heated swimming pool or spa pool.

If the pool is indoors, all this evaporated water is effectively trapped within the pool room in the form of airborne humidity.
As the evaporation from the pool continues, the amount of water with the pool room air quickly increases until the point when the air can hold on more water.

Surface condensation will then occur on the windows, walls and ceiling etc and condensation can also actually occur within the structure of the pool room building.
This can soon lead to extensive mould growth, rapid deterioration of the décor and possible eventual structural problems.

Effective air heating is also important within a pool room as the quantity of water which evaporates from the pool surface will be much increased if the air is not able to be maintained at a high enough temperature.
With the option of built-in heating coils for air and pool water, the Orion system provides an ideal solution to condensation and temperature control.

The Orion is designed and constructed to the highest possible standard and all components have been especially selected for use within corrosive swimming pool environments.

For maximum durability and strength, all exterior panels are formed from galvanized steel, with a tough PVC coating to prevent corrosion.

The refrigeration system is filled with zero ozone depletion refrigerant and is completely hermetically sealed to guard against leakage.
